    I'm really into this place. If you're a foodie, you will be too. Lots of unique, tasty eats with fun presentations. I've had dinner and brunch here. Brunch is great, comes with unlimited drinks (virgin or alcoholic) plus fruits and cakes. Tasty and different breakfast options ex: bacon jam waffle, deep fried Nutella stuffed French toast. If you're into healthy eating, this is probably not your spot but if not, everything here is delicious. The ambience is cool too, I always feel like I'm on vacation when I come here. I love al fresco dining. Service is always on point. No complaints- try it!!!

    This place was amazing. Our waitress was really nice too. I went here with a group and it's pretty close to where I live. We were all starving and we ordered so much food, mostly anything that had mac n cheese. First thing we had was a lobster mac n cheese, philly cheesesteak egg rolls, and mac n cheese fried balls. WOW everything was delicious! Then we all ordered burgers, but I had the mac n cheese burger (see I told you guys we ordered all mac n cheese)! I don't remember which drink I had (I think it was lemonade or something similar,) , but it was pretty good not as strong as I would have wanted but it was refreshing! We had absolutely no room for dessert definitely coming back soon!

    I'm giving EAT 3 stars to avoid being mean, as our experience here was "interesting". We sat at the bar inside and perused menus while I drank a well-made cocktail called a "Gov't Mule" and the hubs selected his beer (they offer a lot of choices). So far, so good. After selecting 2 items to share at the bar, the bartender informed us that one of our choices is no longer offered and pointed out the other menu items (possibly 4 or 5) that are also no longer available. She explained that the menus are being redone as there is a new chef who has made some changes. Um, ok. But maybe in the meantime someone can find the time to block out the items no longer served? It went downhill from there. We liked the Crispy Chicken sandwich even though when it arrived it was room temp, as were the fries. Then there's the matter of the "Lobster Mac and Cheese". There was about 5, possibly 6 bites of lobster, and there was plenty of macaroni, but no discernible cheese. The sauce was something similar to milk diluted with water. If you look forward to gooey, cheesy richness when you hear "mac and cheese", this is not that. I might pay EAT another visit, because the concept and vibe is a nice addition to the nabe. I'm going to hope things get a little more pulled together. I'm rooting for this place.

    Have been here several times. Atmosphere is great. Beer selection is second to none. Burger concepts are awesome. Had the 50/50 2x with meatloaf and bacon and their regular mix with bacon. Hard to pass up, as it is fantastic. Had the duck which wasn't so great. We brought my son with us on one visit and they were super accommodating. He loved the hot dog and tugboat thing it comes in. Overall a solid place worth visiting.

    I have been here a few times but I came here for paint nite last night and had the best time ever the food is excellent, I love there burgers and the philly cheese steak egg rolls are phenomenal. We also had a pretzel that was really good and the sauces were awesome. The only thing was the lighting was horrible other than that we had a great time

    Where to begin.. Why can't I find this place by just typing 'eat' ? The gastropub needs to be on the search in order for my little yelp app to find it. Other than that... This place was interesting . Came with the crowd that eats a bit late.. I thought for a Friday night it would have been a bit busier but it was what it was . The menu is broken up into a bunch of different sections from small bites to burgers.. Salads... Mac and cheese.. Etc. I asked the waitress what were her recommendations and she rattled off the daily specials and said the philly egg rolls.. And Mac and cheese balls were especially good.. However choosing not to opt in her choices I went with the duck mini tacos since I just try and dare to be different. Prepared In a timely manner they are quite mini! So mini they are a one bite wonder. 85% duck 10% pear? 5% sauce . All in all not bad but a little underwhelming. Would of been better if it came with a little serving of a slaw or just something to add on. For one of my first restaurant meals on Long Island it's pretty much priced like Manhattan. I guess my view can't be totally swayed since I didn't even try one of their fifty fifty burgers even though it sounds like something that might give me a heart attack. 50% ground bacon and 50% ground sirloin. Take a moment to mull that over .... Good but not overly impressed .

    My family and I went to EAT tonight to try the brand new menu. Everything we ate was fantastic! From appetizers to dessert, each thing was better than the next. Filet mignon was excellent - perfectly cooked. Chipotle ribs that just fell off the bone with a nice little kick. The homemade pumpkin ravioli were also delicious. I definitely recommend going to try the new menu!

    Great atmosphere I loved the menu and the attention to detail in every aspect of the menu. The service was perfectly timed. Great atmosphere- we sat inside but there is a gorgeous outdoor space close to the greenhouse where many of the vegetables are harvested. The staff and management are very attentive and you can tell they all like their jobs and like to be here! The food is great - incredibly interesting combinations - too numerous too mention! Check out the menu on the website! All I can say is I love the fact that who ever designed the menu loves soft pretzels and bacon!!!! Bravo - brilliant move - need to work the pretzels and bacon into the desert menu

    I can't bring myself to write a bad review about this place, because the food was fantastic. The good- Food was absolutely fantastic. The house made bacon on the clothespins was awesome. Our meal was great 50/50 burger with fried mac and cheese on top, and the chicken sandwich. The sauces made the meal combine the maple aoili and bacon ranch together on the chicken....delicious!! The bad- Service was alittle ehh. Came here for the beers also and the ones we chose were of course out, maybe just bad timing. We went out to smoke and let our waitress know, they cleared our table with beer still in our pint glasses. Fix the service and you guys will be perfect. We will definitely be back! I want to givce you guys the stars you deserve!

    I have been looking forward to trying this place as I am fairly new to the area. Decided to do a casual date night here and sit outside since the weather was perfect. We sat at the bar and had a cocktail while waiting for a table - only 10 minutes or so. We ordered the house-made bacon, Philly cheesesteak eggrolls and buffacue wings to start - all delicious! I ordered the turkey burger with sweet potato fries and my boyfriend ordered the "cure all" (with onion rings) which is a double bacon cheeseburger between two grilled cheese sandwiches. Overall, the food was good but the service could have been better. The waitress served my boyfriend's meal with french fries when he ordered onion rings - when we pointed out the mistake, she apologized and said she would bring them right out. By the time the onion rings came out, we were already finished eating. We never received water upon being seated; meanwhile, all the other tables around us did. I would come back and give it another chance since the atmosphere is nice (loved the outdoor bar) and the food was good.

    The place is beautiful. A lot of attention to detail. The food is just as good. They have a nice outdoor area. I think it's a little overpriced for a gastropub. I spent almost $100 for two people - 2 apps, 2 burgers, 2 drinks. The Philly cheesesteak egg rolls were good but tasted more like a burger than a cheese steak. Also that white sauce that is pictured on yelp wasn't on mine. It was a cheese sauce. The maple aioli was my favorite sauce that was offered. Sooooo good with fries. The burgers were very tasty. They look small but they are soooo filling. Would come back.

    What a fun place to eat/drink! Cute little trendy gastropub. We sat at the bar so managed to get seats pretty quickly. Since it was a Saturday night, the bartenders were SO busy serving not only the people that were at the bar eating but also the people standing behind us who were just there to drink; I felt stressed just watching their stress at how busy they were. Goes to show you at least how popular they are! BESIDES THAT, our bartender was extremely helpful picking out a beer that was of our liking (gave us little samples/descriptions of a few) and suggestions of popular food items. I ended up getting a meatloaf grilled cheese and fries. My favorite part was the dipping sauces for the fries- maple aoili, bacon aoili, sundried tomato aoili, and garlic Aioli. I loved them all, I just kept rotating between them basically systematically each time I dipped a fry lol. Wish every place had this! Definitely looking forward to returning again soon.

    EAT has became one of my favorite spots on the south shore. First off, EAT has an awesome selection of craft beers with several local offerings. The tap list is right up there with the Black Sheep Ale House. The Black Sheep offers cask ales and a detailed beer menu, so I prefer the beer experience at Black Sheep. EAT sets itself apart with its food menu. The appetizers, salads, and burgers are creative. It's not the same old menu you find at most bars. The house special EAT burger I had was delicious. The pretzel was outstanding. The tomato sauce and cheese provided elements of creaminess and savory along with a hint of herbs. The fried onions gave it a nice crunch. The French fries were super crispy. The burger made for a delicious compliment to my beer. The service is friendly, knowledgable, and attentive. The atmosphere is laid back with some games playing on tv along with alt rock jams playing in the background.

    This place looks like it should be in the middle of a trendy Brooklyn place rather than the middle of Oceanside. It has a great ambiance, decor that has your head wandering all over the pub & music at the perfect volume (no awkward silence, no yelling across the table). The real reason I stopped in was for the Mackin cheese burger, yes fried mac & cheese in between the buns of an organic burger. It was delicious as well as everything else had. The staff was pleasant and made you feel welcomed. I will def be back to say the least!

    I was not prepared for the amount of eating required of me from EAT. I got full and sleepy mid-meal--a good sign. EAT is tucked within a sprinkling of restaurants on Long Beach Road, right down the road from Nathan's. The dining room and bar initially looked tiny to me, but I realized later that there was another large tented area outside with tables. They had a good variety of draft, bottled, and some canned beers. They offered a flight of four drafts for $10. which IMO is pretty reasonable. I settled for my favorite Dogfish 60-minute and my bf tried this Californian beer which looked and tasted like a bitter IPA. Skip it. For starters, we had philly cheese-steak.egg rolls. They were tiny but soo flavorful,served in 6 on a slate tray. Nice touch. I had the mac n cheese burger, which was amazing, but messy. Definitely not first-date food! Even with the bf sneaking in a few bites I couldn't finish it. The fries were surprisingly bad and disappointing, but they give you a bunch of aiolis to dip stuff into, so that helped. My bf had the 50/50 burger, which is a half bacon half beef patty smothered with potato shavings and served on a pretzel roll, and it was great! I'd like to say that I would try it next time we come back to EAT (and there will be a next time), but they had so many other great-looking dishes to try. They had a variety of hot dogs (including one with mac n cheese and bacon bits), burgers, sandwiches, and entrees like a chicken and mashed potato waffle dish that I definitely am trying next time. They have a range of sides, like duck fat fries and poutine. The check in a hollow book at the end was a nice touch. Gabrielle our waitress was great and checked on us a bunch of times. Our drinks, main dishes, and app came to about $70, which is much less than what I'd pay at a steakhouse where I wouldn't leave as full and content. Til next time, EAT!

    Good food and nice area outside to hang out. The lemonade tastes like it's fresh squeezed and has a unique flavor I've never tasted before. I ate here with a group and they did a great job serving everyone. Good selection of beers. Will definitely try this place again.

    Previously I stated that I needed to return before I could give a definitive 5 star review. Well...Return I did, and 5 stars is the correct assessment. The burgers are phenomenal. --The EAT burger in particular is one of the most flavorful meatwiches I've ever encountered. Craveable.-- The brunch menu boasts your choice of one food item + your choice of one libation + soda, coffee, breakfast pastries, hash browns, & fruit salad = $23. Steal city. We tried the "Garbage Plate" and the EGP Egg Sandwich. Both very good. --Small complaint: the "Easy Like Sunday Morning" in my bartending opinion should be a vodka drink, not a rum drink. Rum doesn't coexist with grapefruit quite like vodka does. I wasn't digging it.-- Service is great, especially the brunette female bartender with the nose ring. Beer list is extensive and awesome. The poutine is quacktastic. On a busy road filled with fast food chains and franchise restaurants, EAT is a breath of fresh air.

    Every bite was really really delicious. The chicken wings were juicy and flavored perfectly. We shared everything at the table so I had bites of dick tacos, two different salads and some chicken pot pie. It is definitely a pricier place. For $7 we got the smallest side order of fries I've ever had. However they were delicious. The have a giant Shiner Bock Bottle on the wall but when I asked for a Shiner Bock they said they didn't have Ilit. I thought that was kinda weird. For dessert we had the sampler. It was differnt types of chocolatey goodness. The best moment was when nobody was sure whether the ball ok the platter was edible. It was very hard. After a few differnt attempts to open it and a heated discussion about it being edible someone finally just manned up and took a hard bite. Turned out it was chocolate :) Overall I would come back again most definitely. Just know it's not a cheap meal!

    A group of us came here one night, and it's a cute place, good presentation of their plates. Their burgers are somewhat creative. The Mac and Cheese burger was delicious. The service wasn't all that great. There were meals, drinks, and appetizers that were never put in. Overall it's a cute local spot to go with friends, hang, and munch on some major fattening food! ;)

    I have been to Eat over and over and over again! There's a lot to take in with their innovative menu and one of my favorites points of difference is their very own greenhouse where produce and herbs are grown. FINALLY! A place on Long Island that gets sustainability as well as the importance of humane farming!!! Farm to table baby! What's more is the flavor. It's hard to pick a handful of recommendations but here are my top 3 menu items: 3)The 50/50 burger (half ground beef, half ground bacon) 2) Tuna tar tar (served with tarot chips) best I've ever had. 1) buffalo chicken egg rolls (from their happy hour menu) ****The happy hour menu alone is a great reason to check them out. Food is $5 as well as a huge Kraft beer selection and really good house wines. Another great pic is their mussels finocchio - simply delicious, quality ingredients.**** I also love the little touches. There are places to charge your phone, board games you can play at your table like connect 4 or head bands, there a hand written beer menu, a condiment cart that hosts a bacon ranch and maple something (aioli?) along with sriracha and ketchup. They serve things on wooden paddles with their logo branded on it, mini cast iron skillets and baby spoons for thinks like pickles or other sides. All of these things add to a fun and yet exquisite dining experience. I've brought over 20 people there and everyone is a return customer. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is I'm still waiting on a call back for an inquiry I made to have an event there. It's been about 5 months and so 4 stars for now.

    The waitress was excellent. She was very attentive and friendly. It a visual delight from the food to the ambiance. A mix of rock music plays low in the background. My family had a 50/50 burger (bacon/beef), meatloaf and I had a salad. Then we shared dessert. My child loved her "dirt" mousse. I had excellent decaf coffee as well. They have an extensive alcohol menu. In the summer they also have an open area/beer garden type area. I highly recommend this place with or without children!

    I went here on a Monday evening when the place I originally wanted to go to was closed, as so many restaurants seem to be on Mondays. EAT Gastropub was recommended by my future son-in-law, who knows how much I love good food at interesting restaurants. This place is all about comfort - both in food and decor, seating and serving. The staff was friendly and helpful, without being overbearing. The food! So very clever and creative, fun and delicious. Most ingredients are locally-sourced, with a list of providers so you'll know where they came from. Presentation is Guy Fieri-worthy, and totally whets the appetite. One bite of each dish, and the taste confirms the presentation. Bonus - their food is all fresh and non-GMO. Check out their menu at eatgastro.com/eat-menu to get an idea of what they offer. We went with the Philly Cheesesteak Egg-rolls - how could you not? - and an order of House-Made Bacon, smoked and sliced on premises. Both were delicious. My daughter and her fiancé grabbed their Frico Burger (wrapped in crispy Asiago cheese and served on a pretzel roll) so fast I din't have a chance to photograph it! I ordered the ridiculous Cure-All bacon double cheeseburger - two bacon-covered ground beef patties nested between two grilled-cheese sandwiches made with what some would call Texas Toast. I say ridiculous because, well, you can't eat the whole thing and it's hard to get in your mouth. I cut mine in half and took half home, which I just re-heated and ate as I sat down to write this review. I paired it with a Fried Mac N Cheese Cake, which thankfully my daughter and her fiancé split with me. Very rich, with a delicate crispy outer seasoned wrapping (think crab cake) and a delectable sauce. A beer flight was the perfect complement to all this great food, chosen from a nice selection of 24 very decent craft brews, all on tap. When we were finished eating, the waitress came with dessert menus! Hahahaha - fat chance! (Pun intended) - where am I going to put dessert after a meal like this? I have to go back to try their Buffacue Wings, Mini Duck Tacos and Cheese Brat Sliders appetizers and their Eat Burger that comes with cheddar cheese, tomato jam, bacon jam (!), gorgonzola fondue and crispy onions on a pretzel roll. They also have a nice selection of Wieners, including a Macin Cheese Dog with crumbled bacon. O.M.G. Obviously, I can't say enough good things about this place. Oh - the prices are reasonable, too. Highly recommended by this foodie.

    This place is DYN-OOOO-MITE! I was a little hesitant to come and eat here after looking over the menu online; it seemed a little out there, but man am I glad I stopped by. First off the décor is awesome and tasteful, the drink selection is OUT OF THIS WORLD, and the SERVICE was PHENOMENAL. Yes the MENU is "out there" but man was that GASTROPUB BURGER delicious. Jimmy the Bartender is one of those rare assets that very FEW bars HAVE, and is definitely a reason why I will be a frequent patron from now on. I recommend this place to anyone. Very few places I've been too have that welcoming vibe, but this place has it!

    Finally seeing some 'cool' places arrive in the LB area. Came in tonight and fell in love. Roughly 24 beers on tap, my fiancé and I both had beer flights to try some out ($10 a piece). The staff is so friendly and the decor is awesome. I'm a fan of mason jars and they are hanging throughout the restaurant with light bulbs in them. Cool! They also have games sitting on the tables around the bar, great idea. Every detail if this place from their menu - to straws - to bar snacks are well thought out and put a unique spin on this new gastro pub. We ordered the chicken pot pie ($16) and the fennel salad ($12). Added tuna to the salad (only received four pieces, bummer) but still good. I'm a fan. To those who have posted negative comments - it was time for a change. Get with it people! We will DEFINITELY be back again. "Eat safe. Use condiments."

    I think i saw this on newsdays site and then a few people recommended. I had the philly egg rolls which were really good and tasted kinda like short ribs. the 10oz gastroburger with rings and my wife had the eat burger. we both loved our burger,i didnt like the rings as much as i thought i would. The bacon is crazy good meat and like candy I wasnt really a fan of all the sauces it was fine the way it was. i would go back but try to stay in a budget.

    My friends & I came here on ASH WEDNESDAY. OPPS. I'm sure they have some great vegetarian and healthy options, but If are you a carnivore this is the place to beeeee. My friends I split the philly cheesesteak eggrolls for an app - it was pretty damn good. We also got the 4 dip sampler - I was NOT a fan. I dunno....they just all seemed way too blended & salty for me. I wouldn't order this one again. We got 2 burgers and the chicken sandwich and split them. You feel like a fatass leaving this place but I think it is worth it. I love the dipping sauce options and maaaan that burger on the pretzel roll was out of this world. In the summer they have a green house and a beer garden outside so I will definitely be coming back once it gets warmer out. OH - and I had this Moscow mule type drink - forgot the name of it - but it was great!

    Everything we tried here was excellent. We started with the poutine and thought it was delicious. I loved the 50/50 burger (made with half ground beef and half ground bacon). I chose the onion rings to accompany it, and these were probably the best item I tried here - great ratio of crisp fried exterior to onion. My dish came with a side of a peanut based sauce which tasted very good on the burger. Our server brought out a rack filled with a bunch of different aiolis - bacon ranch ailois, garlic aiolis, maple aiolis, and at least one more which I'm not remembering. I am no mayonnaise fan (and so not much of an aioli fan) but I thought the bacon ranch aioli was great on both the burger and the onion rings. For dessert, we shared a bacon bourbon root beer float with chocolate covered bacon. It was salty, sweet, chocolatey deliciousness. Couldn't eat much of it, but I loved the bites I tried. Presentation was artful. One of the people I was dining with ordered a side of bacon which came on a plate set up with a miniature 'clothesline' that the bacon hung from. So bonus points for clever, '3D' presentation. We got great service.

    I drove past this place many times when it was just coming into the area and I have kept my eye on it ever since. I am always looking for the next trendy place which will serve me an abundance of my favorite craft beers so naturally, I was so excited for EAT to open. Once more information started to surface, I couldn't wait to get in the door. They care a lot about what they are serving and I would. I have only eaten here one time so far. One con that I must mention is that although the menu is phenomenal, it's a little over the top. Though the menu looks creative and exciting, all I wanted was a simple cheeseburger - which they were able to accommodate for me - although it's not on the menu. The cheeseburger, served on a pretzel bun, was one of the best I've had in a long time. The beef was delicious, fresh and hormone free (+) with so much natural flavor. Burgers come with hand-cut fries that were remarkable and the pickles on the side were homemade and extremely addicting. They also have a bunch of homemade sauces that you can try which are also all very good. Bacon-Ranch Aoili, Maple Aioli -- I don't even know what Aioli is but I want more! I will definitely be coming back here often. As for the cocktails, each drink is made with love. Just like craft beer, I love myself a craft cocktail and EAT has a great variety of interesting and unique drinks. The decor and ambience of EAT is super trendy and one of my favorite designed spots I've been to in a long time. It's clean, inviting and somewhat spacious and a great place to dine or drink with a few friends. If you're looking for something new and something you've never tried before, you should definitely spend at evening at the Gastropub! You won't regret it.

    This place is great! It's kind of hard to find quality food, drink and a cool, down to earth atmosphere in the Baldwin/Oceanside area and everything in RVC is old news for me- this was so refreshing to find! Food- we got the chips and dip and it was super flavorful! Favorite was the green feta mixture- tangy and savory. Would definitely recommend. I had the watermelon salad- and although not the biggest fan of watermelon, it sounded great and it was! The balsamic and watermelon plus mixed greens and relished onion all went together for the perfect ratio of sweet and salty. My friend had the lunch special of soup and salad- New York Crab Chowder- she said it was delish! I will definitely be back for dinner and dessert very soon!

    Gave this establishment a try this evening. Unfortunately our server was clueless. We had two burgers, two cokes and the bill came to $40.00 My wife was charged additionally for a side dish that had been offered by our server as a substitute for the fries, with no mention of an up charge for the change in sides. My burger which was ordered med rare came out well done. My fat ass barely fit in the cold metal chair..all in all not a pleasant experience, although I can only blame myself for my posterior! Cute concept that doesn't pan out? FYI : Read the negative reviews first! If I had, it would have saved me $40.00! Says they lost their chef in April, and same owners as previous occupants: The Union Cafe. Remember, when you put lipstick on a pig - it's still a pig!

    Came to Eat Gastropub after a fun morning of kayaking in nearby Freeport and needless to say, we came very very hungry. Everything about this place was fantastic, from the food, to the drinks, to the service. In fact, I don't know if I've ever had this kind of attentiveness from a restaurant EVER. Our waitress, Monique, took care of us from the very beginning and made sure that everything was okay. Not only that, but the manager of the restaurant came to visit us twice to make sure that we were enjoying ourselves (which we were!) We started off with drinks, and their craft beer list is extensive. More than 20 on tap, about 10-15 bottles and the same amount of cans. My girlfriend and I both ordering a flight of beers (4 5 oz. pours for $10) and all of them were amazing. The menu was so big that we decided to order four appetizers to try as much as we could: Onion Rings served with Bacon Ranch Dressing (crispy and delicious) Mini Duck Tacos (best appetizer on the menu) Buffecue Wings (just regular wings, a bit spicy but good) Brat Sliders (sausage in between toasted buns) Everything was great. Would totally make the trek out again just to eat here!

    I came here on night with my best friend and I must say I had the best experience. Food, service and atmosphere was great. Drinks are a little on the strong side but they still are good. The waitress was well knowledgable about the menu which helped with deciding what I want. We both shared the Duck Tacos, the Philly cheese steak rolls, and the house bacon. Must say the appetizers were plated nicely and tasted even better. My friend had an Apricot Chipotle Chicken & Waffled which was the definition of sweet and savory. For me, I had a special which was the Pork Belly with other stuff (forgot the name) but it was amazing! Can't wait to go back

    There are some really cool things going on here like an indoor herb garden hanging on the wall in the main dining room and an outdoor beer garden "Garden of Eatin" which is scheduled to open on Friday, 01 May 15. This is going to be THE place to hang out in the summer with plenty of seats and a mature greenhouse. I have found myself in Oceanside 3 Sundays in the past 6 weeks and usually drop my anchor here. It's centrally located on Long Beach Road with free parking in the back. Sometimes I sit at the bar and enjoy one of their 24 craft beers on tap and sometimes I move to the dining room for brunch. The deep fried french toast is delicious in all its artery clogging glory but I usually have "The Nest" which is two poached eggs, crispy onion, pickled vegetables, asparagus, roasted beets, lettuce, tomato and bacon. Note to all Bloody Mary lovers - Skip it - EAT's Mary is not good. (I'm being kind here). I disected mine last week and found 4 ounces of red chunky salsa-ish fluid in a very skinny glass with about 14 big icecubes. It wasn't pretty. It wasn't spicy. There wasn't any garnish in it at all- one would expect a celery stick at the very least- but in a gastropub? Come On! And it wasn't something you could drink, I had to chew my way thru it. Or not. I ordered a beer and called it a day. I'm still a fan. 4 stars!

    It's Friday night and after working 12 to 14 hour days every day of the week, I feel like having a nice drink and a few bites to eat to catch up with hubby. We stop here, and the hostess tells us there is 25 minute wait for a table, we say OK and in a meanwhile, take up seats at the bar. Funny, I have never eaten at the bar before, but after seating for a few minutes, I said, forget the table, we are eating here, there is something about sitting together with a bunch of strangers and drinks flowing that brings people together and makes one want to talk to people you have never met before, and that's exactly what we did, 15 minutes into our meal, we were talking about best pizzerias in Brooklyn with two other couples who came from Brooklyn years ago to live in Long Island. I had Hemingway Daiquiri followed by Manhattan and hubs had 3 different kinds of beer. My drinks were crafted very well. For the meal, we ordered duck tacos, duck fat fries, philly steak egg rolls and shared a frico burger, all food was awesome, the frico burger is something else-a patty wrapped into asiago cheese and enclosed in a pretzel roll, yum, yum, yum. The bartender on our side that night was Pat L, great guy, he kept the evening going. We enjoyed it a lot and will be back!

    I'm a total fan of this place and I would go there every week if I could! Burgers are awesome...some are crazy too like a burger sandwiched between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches! I think my favorite was the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls and the Garbage Plate, which I had at brunch. Between our few visits there, we've tried the entire dessert menu - all are delish. It's so close to home and convenient. Craft beer selection for my BF is good and dessert selection for me is awesome! I'm sure we'll continue to go back.

    Have been dying to try this place for a while! Was in the area and stopped in. The place is much bigger than it appears from the outside. They have an impressive outdoor and semi-outdoor dining area. Very well designed and decorated. I was there for brunch, purely by chance. The brunch menu is a little limited, but the choices all seemed good. My server was a sweetheart. She was super bubbly. She brought us fresh fruit & pastries (mini brownies and crumb cake) while we waited for our food. I ordered "The Day After Burger," which is essentially a burger with a fried egg on top, along with other condiments and add-ons. I didn't have a drink because I was going straight to work afterwards. The meal was good but a little pricey. I was definitely too full for dessert. I asked the server for a lunch and dinner menu to look at. I definitely plan on frequenting for both lunch and dinner. I am really excited about nearly everything they have to offer. I will definitely be sure to update my review once I get the opportunity to try them some more.

    What a great find this was & thank you my fellow friends on YELP for highly recommending EAT! As great as the pictures look - it doesn't do the food justice. I knew it was gonna be good, but I didn't know it was gonna be THAT GOOD! From the cool, fun, trendy atmosphere to the fresh, rich ,wholesome ,savory comfort food that EAT delivers this place is a win win! I can't comment on the drinks since we had waters and an iced tea which was good oh and a Root Beer (which was good- it was a bottle of the Boynton soda ). Come and enjoy!

    Pleasant! Eat is a great little 'cheap eats' spot in Oceanside, on Long Beach Road. I came here with a friend for dinner on a Saturday night; we arrived around ten past eight, and were seated right away. Eat was hoppin'! My friend and I ordered apps right way; the dipping app to share (there were four dips - cauliflower, spinach, guacamole, and hummus) and tuna tartare for my friend. The dips were delicious, but I wasn't a fan of the chips they came with; they were thin and tasted a little off. I usually like tuna tartare, but this particular version was heavy on the pineapple, and I passed when I was offered some by my friend. We hadn't finished our apps yet when dinner showed up. That irked me a bit - why are you rushing me, Eat?! I had ordered the Caesar salad, my friend got a burger, and we shared a side of poutine - french fries in duck fat (?!) and cheese curds. That poutine was delicious, although likely ninth-circle-sinful. My salad seemed endless; it was good, and it was definitely dinner-sized. My friend and I each had a Manhattan, a featured cocktail; we both commented on the strength of the cocktails. For dessert I had the apple crumb pie, which was ok; my friend had the bacon ice cream float, which she said she was glad she tried. Overall, I liked Eat, and I would come back, but it does seem a little try-hard and trendy, and service was just ok. The rushing was one thing, and the inattentiveness overall was another. Still, Eat was a fun place to kick back and hang out for dinner!

    I've been here several times. My first experience of visiting the establishment I witnessed one of the servers yelling at an elder customer for being so demanding. She came over to apologize to our table but not him cause he's a regular and makes demands for coffee every time!!! First strike!! However, the food I had that day was brunch. I ordered the turkey burger which was tasteful and not dry. When I ordered a cocktail the glass was FULL of these huge ice cubes and barely any liquid. Epic fail!! The other times I've ordered was the shaved fennel salad with tuna. The first time there was an abundance of salad but the last few times I ordered it there was practically no greens and 2 slices of seared tuna. Im all for paying for good food but don't chinch out on the servings!! I've tried the lobster mack and cheese which is yummy with lobster chunks. Ordered the Philly cheese stake appetizer which is pretty good. The desserts are DELISH but when you order the bourbon root beer float with bacon make sure it's not for a child. The server stated there wasn't any bourbon in it but when we received it, another server grabbed from us insisting the bacon is fried in bourbon. Not appropriate for a child. The issue was rectified but was slightly frustrating of the back and forth of the yes and no's. The food and desert is good but it's over priced for the serving portions. Keep that in mind when placing an order. Oh and I hope you don't get the screaming nasty server who yells at elderly "demanding" customers!! She needs a to be fired!!

    I am highly impressed with EAT Gastropub and will definitely be back soon. The place is really awesome and has a feel good vibe immediately upon walking in. The hostesses greeted me immediately & very warmly & pointed me in the direction of the bar where I wanted to sit. I sat in the section of the bar where Jimmy was tending to & he gave me phenomenal service & payed attention to all of my needs & exceeded all expectations because he knew what I needed before I even did. My water was never half empty & the drink he made, the Spring Mule I believe it was called was a play on the Moscow Mule but with cucumber & it was phenomenal!! Jimmy knew all everything about the menu & guided me through it offering many recommendations & I settled on the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls that were outstanding!! I had read about them in other reviews on Yelp & knew I needed to try them for myself. There was two sauces drizzled on top: a BBQ & what seemed like a béchamel. I would definitely go back to order them again & try some of their other amazing concoctions. I'm so impressed with this place because they smoke all their own meat & grow their own herbs & various ingredients in their own greenhouse. Farm to table literally takes on a whole new meaning at EAT. If you're looking for a cool place to go to try some awesome food & drinks, run don't walk to EAT & sit with Jimmy at the bar!!

    First time here with our good friends and O have to say you will have life long patrons. The immediate draw was the beer selection on tap. It was pretty amazing. And the food was unbelievably delicious and well prepared. I recommend the poutin and pretzel to start off. And the burgers are so delectable that the our loud table was quickly silenced by the food. My hubs had the 50/50 burger and I had the duck tacos. Just a note... Duck tacos are itty bitty but I also ordered a hotdog. Don't expect the duck tacos to fill you up. Other than that it was great all and all.

    I had heard nothing but rave reviews from friends who had been to EAT, so I was really looking forward to eating there. Went on a Thursday night and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls seem to be the most talked about dish here, but I can't for the life of me figure out why. They had a gritty texture that was more reminiscent of meatloaf than any Philly Cheesesteak I've ever had. They also had a strange 4-cheese sauce on top of them and some sort of bbq/ketchup monstrosity at the bottom. The cheese sauce was over the top for "Philly" (provolone or Wiz); and the tomato stuff at the bottom took over most of the taste. A salad topped with duck confit was passable, but not really special in any way, except for an excellent dressing. The EAT Burger was, for its price, undersized (5 oz. burger), underseasoned, overcooked and topped with a bacon jam that was way too sweet. It was paired with the world's smallest serving of french fries. A soda arrived that had no flavor (syrup issue at the fountain) -- but went unreplaced despite mentioning it twice to two different servers. A milkshake, served in a small milk jug, had a consistency that made it seem as if no ice cream was actually used in its creation. Total bill was over $60 for two people without any alcohol.

    Went today, Sunday, for a quick bite to eat after the beach (only a short drive away!). We were recommended by a friend and were told to try the burgers. The place itself was very cute, and had a nice size bar, which had about 7 people already sitting. We noticed there was an outdoor area and asked to be seated outside. The host seated us promptly, and our waitress arrived shortly after. The outdoor area was very nice and a great size. There was also an outdoor bar which was pretty packed with 20-30 somethings all having drinks and apps. Smoking was allowed. There was also live music from an older gentleman singing classics. I wasn't too much of a fan, but kudos to him! The food - I had the 'Roasted Grape Salad' which was pretty great. In it were "grape tomatoes, strawberries, candied walnuts, micro greens, fresh basil, oba leaves, edible flowers, roasted strawberry vinaigrette" for 11$ - I added chicken to mine for a charge. The salad was tasty, but didn't notice any edible flowers in it, maybe they forgot? My cousin had the same salad, also no flowers, but with seared tuna. for an $8 charge she received only four pieces. Her husband ordered a burger (not sure which) with asparagus on the side. The asparagus was delicious! We also ordered fries to share, which were also really delicious! The service - On par. The waitress was very attentive and the busboy was too. She brought over some extra plates without us asking (great!) but noticed the busser already put some down and took them back. When it came time to grab a plate, we noticed they were very dirty with dried food. We told her, she apologized, and took them away. Overall, I would come here again, I think it would be fun to come with a group of friends for dinner.

    I've been coming to EAT gastropub since they opened and it just keeps getting better. Every time I go I tell myself afterwards "Wow, that was so good, I have to write a review" and then never remember to do it. Now I finally am... They have a huge selection of craft beer and a really fun cocktail menu. The staff is always really friendly and helpful and both the bar area and dining area have a great atmosphere. (I'm still waiting for the outside beer garden to open up!) However, by far, the best part about EAT is their food. I've never had anything at EAT that disappointed me. I've been there for lunch, dinner, brunch and just drinks/apps at the bar... each time they have not let me down. If you love bacon (who doesn't?) this is the place for you, but honestly, everything here is good. Every time I go, I leave with a new "favorite" that is replaced each visit by whatever I try next. I'm usually a very picky eater but I have yet to taste anything that I didn't love and all of the friends or family members that I've brought with me have felt the same way. (Even my daughter, who is an even pickier eater than I am, loved her meal.) Some of the items on their menu that absolutely have to be tried are the 50-50 burger (50% beef, 50% bacon, 100% yum), the philly cheesesteak egg rolls, the grilled cauliflower, the nutella-stuffed french toast, the bacon jam waffles, and of course, the housemade bacon which arrives on an adorable mini clothesline. The "EAT This! Dessert Platter" is also delicious and perfect for sharing. Honestly, literally everything I've tried has been awesome. The food is always amazing, but I swear it is has been even better than usually lately. The only complaint I could possibly have is that I never get to bring home any leftovers because the food is too good not to finish (no matter how full I may be at the end of the night). EAT is quickly becoming one of my favorite places on Long Island.

    oh hey there cute little place with fun, hip vibes. I dig you. I will come back for more :) The beer selection is extensive. They have pear cider. on tap. It was delicious. The food: My friends split dips and chips - you get 4 different dips and these amazing chips to dip. i dont even know how to describe them. but soo good. I had the panko eggplant panini and it was good. not great but good. I added a maple sauce on it to give it a little more flavor and that helped. my friend got a grilled wedge salad which she loved and my other friend got a srichacha chicken sandwich which she loved. I would go back her on a cheat day and get the 50/50 burger - which is half ground meat and half ground bacon - i mean. i need to . you need to. Life would be complete (or at least i hope)

    Ok,I just finished vomiting. Did I get sick from EAT? I'll never know. But an hour after my food came out,I needed to rush home in an "uh oh" moment. I feel awful,it is flu season who knows. I really don't consider myself a picky eater. I enjoy almost everything. I had a really difficult time deciding. I chose the chicken and potato waffle. She had watermelon salad. Now here's the thing,most men are happy eating cold pizza with peanut butter on a playing card for dessert(don't take me literally). We end up at one of these places because of our girlfriends or wives. We just want to see them happy. So can I bad mouth a place for being too creative/over ambitious with a menu? I feel like they need to focus on a few fundamental pub style foods such as a simple cheeseburger;you need to make everyone happy. Not everyone is in the mood to try something bold like a ground beef/bacon burger. A restaurant should be known for at least one thing. What do you go to Peter lugers for? Steak duh! A Greek place? A gyro or souvalki...etc. What is this place? A trendy pub? Threw me off. So here's a place that puts an enormous amount of effort on the appearance of the entree but,maybe less on the recipe. Not to say my food was bad. The quality of my chicken was second to none,I could taste difference. The smores sliders were good but not worth $8 So in a nutshell,guys your girl will love this place,a burger is going to cost you a minimum of $15 she will probably order a $20 salad with mango or cage free eggs that went to private school ,if you don't have skinny jeans you won't fit in,and if you are any thing like me 200lbs+ and blue collar you will probably opt for what I mentioned earlier...cold pizza when you get home.

We got the special app baked clams, and the special main entree scallops with spinach risotto and lobster sauce from the menu lobster mac and cheese, wings, gastro burger and the sring has sprung dessert. everything was cooked to perfection and the waitress made it 100 times better.     I stopped in for a drink yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised by my visit to EAT. The Craft beer and interesting cocktail menu was varied and unique, and the happy hour pricing made all the more appealing. The space is interesting to the eye, and the staff friendly and courteous, I can't speak to the dinner menu, but the bar menu was very good and the dishes I tasted were excellent. I will certainly be going back.

    I would like to give it 4 stars however I'm being held back for a few reasons. While the restaurant has been remodeled, it looked like so many other places. I'm not a beer guy however I was feeling adventurous so I wanted to go in that direction. There aw so many to choose from yet there are no descriptions of the beer to be found. I ended up doing a few random selections which didn't work out too well. Appetizers: we ordered 4 as there were 6 of us. The Philly Cheese Steak egg rolls were addictive. The mussels were very good although there was no serving spoon offered. The tuna tartare was very citrusy however 2 of my party raved about it. The chips and dip were just ok. For my entire, I ordered the 10oz 50/50 burger w/ cheddar served on a pretzel bun. This was a home run and I woukd definitely recommend this. I couldn't have been better. Kudos to them. No deserts.

    The food was great, I got the 50/50 burger which is half bacon and half beef. It was sooo good, BUT the waitress did not ask me how I wanted it cooked and I also forgot to tell her but she should have asked so make sure you say how you like it. The duck fat fries are out of this world, and the southern Mac and cheese balls are awesome! Definitely recommend this place to anyone.

    Been here 2 times before only had drinks. I'm not a big craft beer guy but the bartenders were very helpful with finding the right beer. I have had the mix drinks before and they were great. Today tried the food for the first time. It was the best burger I have ever ate. Perfect size and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend especially if your a craft beer person!

    No. No. No. Fisco burgers - awful. NaCl in fries: excessive. Service: inattentive, slow and dumb. (Really? Buspersons coming to your table with bus tubs to clear away plates?) Wait 40 minutes and then get thrown into the subzero "side room"... so cold they could have stored the meat in there right next to the christmas decorations tossed to the supply corner of the room. And do accommodate guests to open/close the door to go in & out into the cold night air right next to the tables. Awful. Unprofessional. Awful. Clueless. Awful. $98 for 3 burgers and 3 drinks. Don't try to use Open Table for reservations on Fridays. ... they turn it off and... they turn off their phones.

    I was on the boarder with giving EAT 2 or 3 stars, but had to round down. Went for a late dinner with a friend on a Saturday, and the dining room wasn't too busy. However, the bar was extremely busy and seemed very cramped. We were seated and it took awhile for anyone to come over to greet us, even though there were tons of employees. Someone finally comes over, and we ask for water to start. The water never came, and we had to ask a different server to bring it to us. A different server comes to take our order for cocktails and entrees. The food was ok, but they brought over a giant bucket with a lot of condiments. It is nice that they do this, but when you are seated at a 2 top table, it does not leave much room. The biggest disappointment was the cocktails, and their mixologist should be embarrassed. I have no problem spending $12 on a cocktail, but it needs to be done right. Most of their cocktails have added sugar, or demerara which is just a different type of sugar. They used a store bought ginger beer, which should be made in house when you are spending $12. Also, they used regular ice for the cocktails which is a big no no. Lastly, the citrus of choice is lemon here, even when some drinks should be made with lime, such as the pisco sour. Overall, with spotty service (4 different servers), mediocre food, and horrible cocktails, I would not be likely to return.

    Went with a couple of buddies to try this place out. Full disclosure- we were big fans of Union Park. Craft Beer selection was ample and they do carry a few over the counter brands for those that do not care for craft beer. Appetizers were rather small for the price however quite tasty. I would recommend the Philly cheesesteak egg roll which was delicious. For dinner, had the Mac and cheese burger. Burger was cooked right and was excellent. As a matter of fact condiments are not needed so you can savor the taste. Fries were good but a small portion. Would give it 4 stars but the price in relation to the quantity (especially the apps) was quite high. Burger , 2 beers and a shared app /tip ran $55 a head.

The menu is also pretty one-dimensional and monotonous. Everything is basically a heart attack served on a pretzel roll. The beer selection however is pretty excellent, as are the duck fat fries.

    I got the Mac and cheese burger, wasn't impressed. Mac and cheese was dry and burger was greasy. My friend got the turkey burger which sounded good but looked like it came out of a freezer the patty wasn't ground turkey it was store bought. Drinks were weak. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Maybe stop by for a beer if I was in the area.

    I just want to said that the reason that I'm only giving it 3 stars is not because of the food, is because we went to eat there on a Sunday and they only offer you brunch and i was told that i could not order from their regular menu, also because they were out of hotdogs and because there people in front of our table were been very loud, to the point that another couple decide to move to the bar area to run away from it, i ask the waiter if maybe she could tell them to tone it done and she just look and dint said anything. We ate fast and left but they were still been loud, so the other table next to them started to laughs very loud just so they notice how rude they were been. Yes i know is a restaurant/bar and they were probably wasting more money then us but c'mon they were beyond loud and it wasn't just us complaining about it. I felt like they dint care.     Greeted & Seated immediately, even with a full house. Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls are a must starter, you get 6 bites. Be warned, they can fill you up before your main burger. All burgers are FRESH, decently seasoned & allows the Condiments to shine! Eat Burger's a solid, basic White Cheddar burger with creamy Gorgonzola, Fried Onions, Bacon & Tomato Jam & Ketchup ALL on a Pretzel Bun: Burger Heaven. The Gastropub's a 10 oz. Bacon-ladened mountain of beef with Ranch & Tomato Jam on th e Pretzel bun. Excellent choice for meat lovers. The Mac & Cheese burger has a fried patty of mac & cheese that comes with a Cheese fondue & Tomato Jam. Decent bite but wouldn't order again. The Granddaddy of them all: The Cure All is 8 ozs of beef interloped between a massive fortress of Sourdough Grilled Cheese w Micro Shoe String Fries. Of course, the smallest one in our group orders THIS behomoth & could only eat 1/4. The waitress told him the burger was taller than he was. Truth! Drinks were good, I enjoyed the large variety of Tequilas, which allowed me to customize my Mexico Mule (Blackberry & Allspice). Hubs loved the 4 for $10 5oz.variety of Crafts he could customize. The boys loved their free-refilled Shirley Temples. Our waitperson, Kelly, was attentive without being overbearing. The cost is not for the faint of heart but worth it. Will become one of our family's favs.

    I entered from the street to a well attended bar crowd watching the game in front. There are so many beers available you can't go wrong. The atmosphere was clean and hip - very comfortable set up in the dining room and no noise from the bar. The appetizer of duck tacos was too salty but otherwise delicious. The duck salad entrée was cold, so my husband was a little disappointed. We also liked the bacon jam flatbread with grapes - I had the eggplant pannini which was bland. With the addition of lots of delicious aioli which came separately I was able to achieve a good flavor though. The crowd is young in the back and older at the bar. We will try it again with our 20 something kids when it gets warmer and the big outdoor dining room is open.

    Great variety of beers and food, good service. I came here a few months ago after visiting Barrier Brewery, and split the Cure-All Burger with my boyfriend, and it's definitely too big for one person to eat, unless they're a 7 foot giant. It's absolutely awesome- a bacon cheeseburger with potato sticks in between two grilled cheese sandwiches, served with fries (and pickles I think). It was delicious but definitely artery clogging, haha. The bartender was great and friendly and knew her beers and how to recommend ones based on ones I told her I liked. I'd definitely come back and try it out again, but am leaning more toward the bar/high-top service areas than the seating in the back of the restaurant.

    So as a local I wanted to try this place out. Came last week on a Sunday for some small bites and beers. Not food until the next day. Went down the block. Fine...still new. Bartender was nice and let us try a few different beers. Great selection of beers, wine, and spirits. Here one week later. Sitting at bar. Asked for menu. When we went to order we were told no food in bar area. I guess the gastro and pub should be separated. I understand growing pains. Place is nice and the menu looks like it is good. Just not sure I want to be disappointed again if I decide to try again. So maybe give it six weeks. I will call before I come back.

    Great craft beer selection & the Mackin Burger was slammin'! My wife devoured the Crispy Chicken sandwich with sriracha and her cousin went into Mac & Cheese coma on just half a serving. Very Good Comfort gastropub food without trekking to Astoria, BK or the City. Definitely stands out amongst the other eateries in the area.

    My visit started off a bit rocky. I went this past weekend after hearing about this place from a friend. The website stated 'Reverse Happy Hour from 11am- 1pm". We thought this was a bit strange, but a cool innovate idea nonetheless. We arrived to EAT and asked for the Reverse HH menu and were looked at strangely. Apparently, it was a typo on their website- but I stated we came here just for that. A manager came over and agreed to honor the website typo after we pulled it up on our phones and thanked us of showing them the mistake. However, we felt a bit uncomfortable after overhearing the bartender and some staff making annoyed comments about honoring the typo. I guess happy hours are usually only served at the bar and we were already seated at a table so she was annoyed she wouldn't be getting out tip. Note to EAT staff, it's a small place so if it's empty, try to keep your comments to a low, because it makes for an uncomfortable meal. But kudos to the manager for honoring their mistake. To the food & drink. My friend ordered a craft beer on tap and was told they were all out, so the waitress suggested another. They were out of that too..of their taps weren't working. That sucked. She was given a canned beer, which she enjoyed, but wasn't the point. I had their 'Spring Mule' a twist on the normal Moscow Mule which was surprisingly great!! We ordered the Margarita Flatbread (nothing special), the mac and cheese spheres (tasty) and the buffalo chicken eggrolls. Those eggrolls were amazing. I would come back just for those! I think EAT has some kinks to work out but has the potential to be a great place with great food and craft beer. I would like to come back for a happy hour in a few months once they've worked some things out. However, EAT is a great addition to the neighborhood and I wish them the best of luck!

    Went here last night for an impromptu dinner outing. The place has a very cool atmosphere. I love the British paraphernalia that is hung all around (it is a Gastropub after all). The staff was nice and attentive. We ordered the Philly cheese steak egg rolls and the duck tacos. The egg rolls were FANTASTIC!! Wow. Full of flavor. I could have had a second serving of that alone. Duck tacos were good too but a little on the sweet side. They didn't have the flavor burst of the egg rolls. The portion of the appetizers was great. 6 egg rolls and 6 tacos. I ordered the cheese brat sliders not knowing exactly what it was. The waitress was very nice when I explained why I couldn't eat that particular appetizer. She took the dish back and offered an alternative but we decided against it because just the 2 appetizers we ordered were very filling. She was very gracious. (I think her name was Shannon). Anyway- will definitely be going back to try the burgers. My only apprehension is that I don't eat pork or pork products and many of the food on the menu has pork so my options are limited but if you are a pork connoisseur you will like it here.

    EAT is the place to be!!!! I waited till I went here several times to review and I have to say this eatery was on point on each occasion. I have been here for happy hour, dinner, the bar just for drinks, and late night happy hour. Each time I throughly enjoyed my experience. Service was excellent on each occasion from all aspects of the restaurant whether it was our waitress at the table, the hostess, or the bartenders. All were pleasant, kind, and informative. The gentleman who worked at the bar on a Tuesday night that we were there was professional and helpful, especially when it came to recommending beers, they have close to 25 on tap. Additionally, he was great at making a variety of cocktails for several people in our group, a real joy. Service at the table was just as enjoyable, with our waitress Jackie making several recommendations that in the end were great. The philly egg rolls, brat sliders, 50/50 burger, duck Mac , and Mack Burger were all outstanding. A salad ordered at the table was good but lacking in size. Lastly, I highly recommend the late night happy hour a welcomed addition to the local scene since no one in RVC seems to do this. And it's 7 days a week. Solid menu choices for food and beverages alike. Really great for a late night snack and stellar beers and drinks. We went on a Friday, around 11:30 and there was a decent crowd and good music. Bartenders were funny and helpful, really enjoyed the mule cocktail and a beer flight of IPAs both $5 a steal!!!! I'll definitely be back and looking forward to trying their brunch

    This place is fantastic, and a welcome addition to the Oceanside/Long Beach area (a place seemingly stuck in the early 90s when it comes to bars and cocktails). Finally, a place with Mezcal and a staff that knows tequila other than Patron. The food is awesome and they have a greenhouse where I believe they will be growing some of the stuff they serve on site. Service is spot-on. And please, please, ignore idiotic reviews giving them 2 stars for the type of ice they used. If you are anywhere near Oceanside, go here now!

    Union Park Cafe, Johnny Russell's - R.I.P. You were reliable, reasonably-priced, consistent and welcoming. Sure, you needed a face lift,; that is what we hoped you had had! Enter "Eat." And after one visit, we will not return. Says a lot, since we have always given second chances to new restaurants in the past. Why? Arrogance, sheer, snotty arrogance that is entirely undeserved. Let me count the ways: 1. Those wood boards with the plastic inset? How are they kept sanitary? Ugh. 2. Wine list. Pitiful. Entirely pedestrian and forgettable. 3. Uncomfortable chairs. 4. Prices v. Perceived Value v. Portion size. Nothing on the menu could justify the price. 5. False advertising: A. Chi may sign, not a single Belgian Ale B. Salad dressings: please do not call a sugar-laced bottled slurry a vinaigrette 6. The ONE healthy choice- mussels. Neither fresh nor healthy. Frozen offerings do NOT cut it either in the city, Bklyn or Oceanside. 7. Pouring a bagged salad into a bowl is not cooking. Oh, and it was brown and rusty. I wonder what will be in the space next?

    The food here was incredible, it's a shame how terrible the service was I would have recommended this restaurant to so many people but actually I left so angry I would advise takeout only. After ordering a couple specialty cocktails that were recommended by the waitress the drinks were awful. I didn't want to be rude so i ordered a second drink and left the original on the table Throughout the whole meal. Not once did the waitress ask how the food was nor the drinks. Took about 25 minutes to get waters. I ordered the two little piggies and I asked for the special fries they have, the waitres said okay it's extra for the fries I said it's fine. I got my sandwich that came with normal fries and then came out a huge skillet of the specialty fries. Probably should have informed us it was in addition to an order of fries it was not just extra money it was 11$ of fries drenched in sauce. At this point I was pretty frustrated so I decided I would tell the waitress about the initial drink at least- listen im in the business so I know things don't always go smoothly and it gets frustrating I wasn't looking to get anything taken off of the bill I wanted to let the server know by the way don't recommend the lemonade cocktail , the waitress was so rude and made a nasty comment I asked for the manager who didn't really care what I had to say, actually looked like he was smirking at us. I would have made this spot a go to I live in the area, maybe sitting at the bar is different but if you're looking to have a nice smooth dinner date don't go here. Compliments to the chef maybe you could get your front of house staff to be as good as the back of house

It had really great flavor and beautiful presentation. My wife had the Eat burger, she loved the fresh meat, interesting sauce and bun. I will love to try this place in the warmer season, the outside area looked like a nice place to chill and have a killer brew.

    Checked it out early Saturday evening for a bite.drink. Overall all I really dug the place and i think in nicer weather with the open air room it could be pretty nice. I love the fact that they grow a lot of their own food. Had the burger which was I have to say one of the better burgers I have had..onions. amazing bacon and some other sauce made it really nice. The way they serve it with fries, pickles etc on this cool board made for a nice presentation. The Tomatoe Soup with mini grilled cheese was also really great..my wife said one of the best she has ever had. The salad we shared...was large, had a ton of stuff in it, and tasted good. But I think they use too much dressing and it ended up being a soggy...so lighten up on the dressing and you are good to go. Drinks tons of choices and unique. A vodka cucumber lime drink for her which was unique and refreshing. I had the black Cherry Cider...again no complaints....I like trying new stuff...and tasted great and went down easy. id def go back especially when it is warmer. I do have to say that it is pricey for a gastropub..I mean organic and natural costs more..but a burger is a burger and it can get up there. I guess there is this trend of a place that is more expensive then a traditional bar but less then a restaurant. Id Definitely go again.

    The food was yummy, but this review is for the service. I had my 9 month old son with us who is cutting a few teeth. About 15 min after us sitting down he started to get a bit fussy so my husband grabbed him and started to walk. We were about to ask for our food to go since we didn't want to bother the other guests. The waitress came up to us and offered to put us in the empty glasshouse. They moved us and even closed the door so we could eat without feeling like we would disturb anyone. They were so attentive and understanding it was so refreshing to have such a caring wait staff.

Brunch was absolutely mind-blowing and completely game changing!     Had an amazing dining experience last night! It all started with the friendly hostess who greeted us. Then, waited at a gorgeous bar and enjoyed craft beer and a signature drink, the Oceanside Lemonade. We were seated in a crowded but not uncomfortable dining room with a cool vibe. The wait staff were informative and friendly. Kept us attended to but not overbearing. The food was amazing! Just enough of a kick chicken wings and mouthwatering Philly Cheese steak egg rolls were the perfect start. I had the Cure All Burger, a double bacon burger sandwiched between two grilled cheese sandwiches topped with potato sticks. The waiter who brought it out was amazed I would attempt this colossal feast. From the first bite I was in heaven. My husband had the crispy chicken sandwich on a pretzel roll. Yum!!! They put a caddy of different sauces on the table. Everything is made in house. They are even growing their own herbs. The beef is organic and it tastes it! Everything was so fresh. For dessert we split the s'mores platter. Perfect. Even the marshmallows and Graham crackers were made on site. They brought a funky city place to Long Island successfully. We went on a Saturday night. Expect to wait. Doesn't matter, the bar was worth it! GO! You will not be disappointed. PS: I hope they sell a jar of their pickles soon!!

    Pretty awesome food selection for where it is on Long Island. The food is very "trendy," albeit quite good. They have a phenomenal and wide-ranging beer selection from IPAs to wheat beer to local craft brews. The selection changes seasonally from what I remember. They also have a "farm-to-table" thing going on here. Their back garden area seems pretty cool, but it was winter when I last visited. They have a good attempt at a beer garden outside, but is pale in comparison to a real beer garden.

    I waked in and was immediately taken by surprise and forgot I was in Oceanside. This place looks like it should be somewhere else but I'm glad it isn't. The service was very good, the food was delicious and there's no shortage of drinking options with there extensive bar.     My palette is not so sophisticated that I could discern ingredients from a few bites, nor is it so inexperienced that I cannot discern the quality of ingredients and the technique of preparation. I appreciate presentation because I enjoy being surprised, but also recognize cheap attempts to make something look pretty to mask the fact that it is mediocre. That being said, tonight, during its "soft opening", which one would never have known, I had the pleasure of dining at EAT Gastropub in Oceanside, NY. I have recently become acquainted with the concept of the Gastropubs via my business travels and colleagues seeking them out in various cities. To enlighten--Pub atmosphere, with an elevated level of beer, wine, spirits and food--which EAT does not disappoint. I went with my wife, daughter and potential future son-in-law (a foodie in his own right) where I found the specialty drinks to be creative versions of classics: The Spring 44 Mule; a twist on the traditional Moscow mule. The Bramble; a gin based cocktail with fresh berries, and newly discovered Angel's Envy bourbon that I recently found on a business trip to Florida. Among the many spirits, EAT is not limited to, but exceeds it its array of 24 craft beers from our local Barrier Brewery to California based Knee Deep Brewery. But the food...there really aren't strong enough adjectives. Three appetizers: -Compressed Watermelon salad with micro greens, mint and the saltiness of fresh feta was our first bite; refreshing and palette awakening. -Duck fat Poutine with a rich duck demi-glace, my daughter is a French fry fanatic and couldn't get over the fact that they could actually taste that good. -Panko Eggplant, though not an appetizer, we had to try it. More like a Panini, with a sundried tomato aioli and tomato jam. (Split four ways). Crisp, not greasy and bursting with flavor. Four Entrees: -Meatloaf TV dinner, a clever play on a classic 60's meal, even served in a TV dinner style tray. The jus was so rich and beautiful, you would've expected it to be on Filet Mignon. -The Oceanside Grille Seafood Stew, another spin on a traditional Bouillabaisse, but with a savory broth and amazing fresh lobster, shrimp and mussels; served in a beautiful hammered stainless bowl. -Duck Confit Ala Orange; now I'm a duck snob, I love it and if it's on the menu, I'm ordering it. Rendered perfectly, with an orange gastrique that was not overpowering over baby asparagus and a potato puree. -Chicken and Waffles. Brilliantly friend chicken on a light fluffy waffle with a maple aioli. Huge portion; it was the only thing for which we needed a take home bag. Now, I am always wary of dessert, even at the finest restaurants. You know what I mean. You've had an amazing meal so you order some "attempting to be creative" dessert and are completely disappointed; ultimately ruining the previous amazing dining experience. Not the case here. Three desserts (I forget one of the names): -Dessert Chocolate extravaganza (my name).Six chocolate based desserts served on a chilled stone. A mousse, a ganache, a caramel crumble, a chocolate lattice, a chocolate covered, what I imagine to be Captain Crunch, and a raspberry ice pop bite in caramel. A table share for sure. -Spring has Sprung. The most clever concoction. Served in a clay flower pot; this play on PB & J, a Peanut Butter Mouse with a fruit jam and chocolate crumble dirt with a light butterfly crisp, sprig of mint and gummy worm was like nothing that I've tasted. -Last, was the S'mores Sliders, three thin graham cracker buns with toasted marshmallow and a dark chocolate dipping sauce. The fact that they grow their own herbs and some produce in their greenhouse gives them a leg up on fresh ingredients. But the service was also impeccable. An attentive staff, food delivered in an appropriately timed manner and high tech ordering system was a pleasant surprise for a "soft" opening. Short of wait staff being unfamiliar with some of the dishes and a minimally descriptive menu EAT Gastropub is one of those places that all foodies should seek out.

    Disappointing. Went here specifically for the Chicken Pot Pie. Looked good, but was loaded with way too many carrots, only a few shreds of chicken, and was served just warm. Had to stop eating after a few bites as it was already cold. For that kind of money, should have been served bubbling hot, with about a quarter of the amount of carrots and about 5 times the amount of chicken. Service was good and the inside of the place looks nice. Saw many burgers being served and would go with that if I ever return.

    Food was great, everything really fresh and delicious. Ambitious, trendy, quality menu. Think inventive, gourmet pub fare - check out the menu, its high quality, farm to table style - I don't think there's anything like it in the area (yet) Atmosphere is Brooklyn pub, open seating, no big cozy booths here. We were more comfortable at the bar. I would say the food far exceeds the atmosphere. Service was really good, our server Monique was warm, friendly and took time to help us with both drink and menu choices. Overall I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning!

    I have been three times and the food and service and atmosphere is great. I have had the meatloaf grilled cheese twice, shared and the mac and cheese dog, AAAA mazing. The waffles and chicken, not a fan, but that's ok, most people seem to eat burgers but try something different! I will be back shortly, maybe for a burger! BTW the pear cider, yum..you may have to wait at the rush hour on weekend, but its worth it. Just go, prices are good.

    AMAZING. Called in a reservation for a Thursday evening. They had the table ready before we walked in and even had the kids menus on the table. The food is above par. Everything was fantastic. A little pricey compared to a typical pub, but you pay for what you get and you get your monies worth here. I had the mac-n-cheese burger. Perfectly cooked (mid rare) and one of the most unique burgers I have ever had. Good beer selection and several local (long Island) brews. I would like to see a bit more of the local craft beer scene represented, but overall far more local brews are poured here then most places in the area. I believe there were 24 beers (all craft brews) on tap plus a lot more in the bottle. The server was great and the staff was friendly. I cannot wait to go back and try other items on the menu.

    We used to come here often when it was Union Park Cafe. We were extremely disappointed with the selections which emphasized bacon, fatty meats and fried things. Although I do like fatty fried foods, half of our group was elderly with fairly restrictive diets. We asked the waitress to substitute lettuce for cheese and onions: could not be done. We asked for anything other than fries: could not be done. All of the salads were fussy and no substitutions allowed. The one vegetarian dish was not only fried (eggplant) but unavailable. Even the soup was fussy with fennel. We settled on turkey burgers which were delicious, but it was a big headache. One of the four meals came out incorrectly, with cheese when it was asked to be left off. Even the dressing was unable to be eliminated on one of the sandwiches. Oceanside has a lot of elderly people who like to dine with their friends and family. To have such a restrictive menu and then not allow substitutions leaves me to believe this place is only interested in the younger drinking crowd. The table next to us left after being told no substitutions in the salads. We nearly left and probably should have. The poor waitresses! Does this restaurant intend to please the chef or the diners? They have to decide. We spoke to the manager who was awesome enough to take notes on our concerns. I suggested at least two or three simple and plainer offerings and of course, the customer is always right. Please allow substitutions whenever possible. It will turn the meal from frustrating to enjoyable.

    Seriously feel like we've lost a great family casual dining spot. My family loved going here for family meals and good laughs with friendly staff. We have been very unhappy with the lack of directive information when the opening would be ("maybe next week" answer every week). The information on the website is different then what actually is. Tried to go for dinner at 5:30 pm as website said dinner opens at 4:30pm just to be told they don't open till 6pm! Who doesn't serve dinner till 6pm on a weekday. We had to leave cause my husband had to go to work. Their prices are insane! If you have a dinner and an alcoholic drink expect to pay $60 per person!! Time to find a new family favorite place. Very said.

    This is place is so remarkably unhealthy, but that being said it is incredible drunk person food. The place itself has a cool vibe. Great set-up. Try and get a corner booth if you can. Great local beer selection. An option to do beer flights which I recommend. Find what you like and then order pints from there. The poutine appetizer and Philly cheesesteak egg rolls are amazing. I actually ordered the fennel salad once and was pleasantly surprised so there are definitely vegetarian options. The Mac and cheese burger is unreal so if you're feeling carnivorous that's my recommendation. Avoid the cure all unless you have no self respect. A double bacon cheeseburger crammed between two grilled cheese sandwiches. My buddy ordered it and hated himself for days. It looked amazing, but nobody should consume that much in one sitting. Overall a great place for a bunch of buddies to grab a great burger and a pint or five :)

    Delish! I had the chicken pot pie that was very yummy and my boyfriend tried the meatloaf that's was absolutely delicious! My father had the Mac and cheese burger that's was tastes amazing but a little to greasy for my palette, with that said I know other people would love it though.

    Great experience. Decor is very trendy. Wait staff is very helpful and friendly. Fantastic Beer selection. Food was very good. Rumor is they have their own greenhouse and will be adding 1-2 more so all the micro greens are homemade. I'll be back.

    The results are in; the best restaurant in Rockville Centre is in...Oceanside. EAT is everything you want in a gastropub--new versions of old classics, amazing dips, superb wings, great drinks, and helpful, attentive service. The burgers are cooked perfectly and are juicy. Also, can you say homemade bacon! Whaaat? The wings are a combo of spice and bbq, which are crisp and delicious. Also, try the chips and dips, each dip is better than the next.

    Ordered the burger and was served a salt lick instead. I have never had such salty food in my life. The waitress told us "that's why we get such good reviews...he over salts everything and who doesn't love salt?" Ummmm me????

    I have lived on Long Island for 8 Years and outside of restaurants in Montauk, this was by far the best meal I have ever had on the Island. Now, the meal probably totaled 3000 calories, but every single one was well worth it. We went with the Cheesesteak Egg Rolls to start (which were just ok), but the meals, beers, and desserts were off the charts. The flavors of everything combined was pure magic. I will be going back here at least once a month (would probably be more if I didn't gain 3 lbs each visit).
